Becca Malizia, MS
Becca is a scientist by training and a communicator by trade who has enjoyed a successful career leading science and health communications at various biotech and life science companies. Her work involves the intersection of health, medicine, science and storytelling—she’s fueled by her passion for crafting scientific stories that shift perspective and educate the public.
Becca received her BS in Biology from George Washington University and her MS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she specialized in Evolutionary Medicine and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Food Studies. She also spent two years in clinical roles, conducting emergency medicine and trauma research at UAB Hospital and providing patient care in outpatient clinics at Children’s of Alabama.
Becca currently works for Waterhouse Brands, a boutique marketing and communications agency that builds world-changing life science brands. Becca brings a unique background and perspective to the teams she works with. Prior to Waterhouse, she led communications at Biobot Analytics, translating the complex science of wastewater-based epidemiology, and built the Science Care team and Science Communications platform for Seed Health, educating their internal and external community about the invisible world of microbes.
In her spare time, you can find her in the ceramics studio or exploring beautiful California with her partner and two wonderful rescue pups.
