Cynthia Sass, MPH, MA, RDN, CSSD
Cynthia Sass, MPH, MA, RDN, CSSD is a three-time New York Times best-selling author, well-known writer, editor, speaker, certified plant-based cook, plant-based recipe developer, and practitioner, with master's degrees in both nutrition science and public health.
Cynthia was in the first group of registered dietitians to earn the CSSD credential (Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics), which she has held since 2006. She has consulted for six professional sports teams in the NBA, MLB, and NHL, including five seasons with the New York Yankees.
Through her Los Angeles-based practice (formerly New York City) she has counseled Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy winners, and has worked one-on-one with pro athletes in numerous sports, including professional tennis, soccer, skateboarding, and more. She has also been the nutrition consultant for UCLA's prestigious Executive Health Program for over a decade.
Sass has appeared on numerous national TV shows, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Rachael Ray Show, The Martha Stewart Show, and many others. Hundreds of Cynthia's articles and recipes have been published in the popular press and she has conducted thousands of media interviews as a nutrition expert. She is the former nutrition director at Prevention magazine and has served as a contributing nutrition editor at both Shape and Health.
Sass has consulted for plant-based food companies, restaurants, and startups on ingredient selection, product formulation, and marketing. Her specialties include sports and performance nutrition, vegan and plant-based nutrition, health optimization, longevity, and nutrition communications.
