Euridice Martinez-Steele, PhD
Euridice Martinez-Steele, PhD is a researcher at NUPENS (Núcleo de Pesquisas Epidemiológicas em Nutrição e Saúde), School of Public Health, University of São Paulo, Brazil. She received her PhD in Nutrition in Public Health from the Department of Nutrition, School of Public Health, University of Sao Paulo in 2017, with Prof. Carlos Augusto Monteiro MD PhD as an advisor. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and a MSc in Epidemiology from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK.
She has conducted research on the association between ultra-processed food consumption, diet quality (in terms of nutritional profile and presence of xenobiotics), and health outcomes (such as obesity and metabolic syndrome) using both cross-sectional and cohort studies in Brazil, the United States and other countries such as Spain, UK, and Australia, as well as in multiple country study settings.
